but how about finely grated Parmesan Reggianno?
ava: Mama, can I get a cheese snack?
mama: Sorry honey, there is no more cheese.
ava: Let me check. [opens refrigerator and pulls out dairy drawer] Look! Mama, look. There’s salad cheese [running to the living room]. Look, Mama, there’s more…oh, there’s no more cheese!
And that’s how Ava managed to spill cheese on the only bit of carpet in our house.
ahhh…first to comment…i’ll enjoy this moment…
and I’m freezing up. darn. i like your story though. “only bit of carpet”. well done, ava.
oh no – and you can imagine the inflections in my voice when I say that (think Phoebe) !!
Poor thing, you know it wouldn’t have spilt if there were lots of cheese inthe house. Murphy’s Law.
Oh, the horror!! If it were me, I’d start eating it right off the floor. yup. I would. I loooove cheese.
The only thing to do in that situation is get out the Romaine and croûtons and make a Cesar salad right there on the wooden part of the floor. I bet that’s what you did. Right?
Reminds me of a cheese snack story with my girls…..
Getting hungry while mommy was making dinner, they discovered the only cheese in the fridge was a pack of gorgonzola (lovingly referred to as “stinky cheese” in our house, it is a favorite all around). I only half noticed them running off with the pack of cheese and was completely unaware of the outcome until after dinner, when I noticed the dog furiously licking the seat of our wicker chair. The whole package of stinky cheese had been eaten by the girls, and the crumbs were mashed into the wicker. It took the dog a full evening of licking to get every last morsel, and a few more days for the stink to go away!
I love the rug!! I also like the idea to make the salad right there on the floor. You wouldn’t even have to clear the table!
Sounds like Bella. Whenever I tell her that there is no snack – she just has to go check for herself. What did you do with the cheese? I would have scooped it up and ate it! Your floor looks clean enough!
That is just how it goes sometimes, isn’t it??? 🙂
I just realized that I haven’t commented in a while. I read your blog mostly through my Outlook RSS feed when I check my e-mail, so I’m missing out on all the fancy new layouts. Very nice.
Oh, and sorry about the cheese.
