they’re off!

Rachel, Ava, and Uncle Moose left for their big trip to Las Cruces, NM this morning at 8:30. First stop is St. Louis, MO, where they will hop in a minivan with the 4 Steele ladies (Heather, Naomi, Audrey, Cate). You’re prayers for save driving across the country will be appreciated!

importance

Ava tucked in her shirt this morning and declared that she was going to work. I asked her where she was working and she pointed to her bedroom. We then discussed how she was going to work with baby dolls and ponies. “That’s very important work,” I told her. “Mmm-hmm,” she replied. “‘Cause, ’cause, ’cause little things are important. wish come true

For months, every time Nate or I asked Ava what she wanted to do for her birthday she would reply that she wanted a “bunny cake,” and then later a “pink bunny cake.” What influenced this request remains a mystery, but on Saturday the wish took on a coconut frosted form with pink paper ears and “raindrop” eyes.

So with the “oh so pretty” bunny cake in tow, we headed down to our favorite park to meet up with Ava’s friends for a birthday celebration. After much swinging and sliding, her pint-sized guests played “farmer comes, farmer goes,” a bunny hop race, and a bunny scavenger relay–followed of course by a slice of the famous bunny cake!

Praise the Lord for lovely weather and happy kids!
Oh, and my friend, Jennifer took some amazing pictures of the party and posted them on her website: themckinneyfamily.blogspot.com
