when you are wearing a hoodie. It’s true.
Though if you would have told me that yesterday, I would have denied it.
And after one day of wear, your jeans relax and remind you why there are your favorite. Also a mug of hot tea warms cold fingers.
Yesterday I was too busy complaining to be bothered with such truths. And my fingers were too occupied with researching warm locations to relocate to to wrap themselves around a cup of tea.
I have to admit that a bowl of pumpkin soup sounds down right savory now.
Though yesterday I would have stuck out my tongue.
And while I loathed to let go of our weekly trips to the beach, dropping Ava off at preschool does have a few intrinsic rewards. Primarily two and half hours of uninterrupted quiet space.
There is nothing like raising an overly extroverted child to drive you to introversion. Or reclusion.
And while I’m still not excited about nine months of goosebumps, I am thankful for a closet for a coats that will keep me from hibernating or hiding. Even more so, I’m thankful for summer-soaked memories that will warm my heart long after the sun retreats.
So I’m going to wrap up in my khaki trench coat and redeem my thirteen days of summer here by recalling that moments that made this summer amazing.

i like you
Happy Fall indeed!
Oh dear, is it already full blown Fall up yonder? We’re still just on the cusp of it and honestly I’m happy the humidity is over. But then again, our winters are NOTHING compared to yours!
I really wish I would have read this before I quoted people on my post today. I would have included;
“There is nothing like raising an overly extroverted child to drive you to introversion. Or reclusion.”
Brilliant!
I think I already made my thoughts on summer known earlier this summer. I’m a Fall girl for sure. But, I do feel for those of you who love summer and have to see it go. You’ll understand my feelings of having to let fall go and welcome big, bad, mean winter. Ugh.
Hey, I left an award for you on my blog.
i agree with allie. i like you too. i love the way you write! you just made me smile.
Traitor.
Fall has always been my favorite, and even more so now after reading this…I mean, who can resist a steaming mug of tea or a piping hot bowl of soup? I am looking forward to the colder weather also because I am anxious to try a couple of the soups that you posted last winter. Can’t wait!
Don’t give up on summer yet…..Minnesota always has some nice warm days before November. I thought summer was over here in Paris, but it has been 80 degrees the past three days! And people STILL wear their scarves and boots! Go figure…..
I DO WANT SUMMER BACK. Like you, I don’t like fall. Plus I have not said anything, and if you really love summer the way you write that you do, you shouldn’t be letting me be found in that state, through a different perspective, should be leading me into a different state and frame of mind. Am not a traitor as long as you’re not.
Still love cazza?
Uninterrupted quiet time……. ahaaaaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaa.
