Last Christmas, one of my favorite people who happens to house the most beautiful voice that I know recorded a lullaby CD for her friends and family. It is equally loved by Ava and I.
In addition to her own lullabies, Leah included our family’s favorite version of “Hush Little Baby.” The lyrics where take from Ava’s book by Sylia Long (with permission of course), and tell the story of a Mama sharing the beauty and wonder of creation with her child.
If I was as tech saavy as my husband, I would find a way to post one of the songs here, but I’m not and he is still sleeping off his beef tenderloin and pecan pie from last night’s oh so wonderful Christmas festivities. I can however, put up a link to Leah’s myspace page, and send you to the source. “Moon in my Window,” is written by Leah and the title song of the CD.
Grab your favorite blankie before playing “Moon in my Window,” for I assure you that you will be curled up and sucking your thumb before she is finished lulling you to sleep.
I have long wanted to share this CD with you and now I get to give out two CDs for Christmas!
Pretty Leah will mail a CD to two readers as a Happy Christmas present to you. To enter the contest, simply post a comment on this post before 2:30 AM Monday morning (have to give HuberHadley a fair shake). Ava and I will hold another official drawing and post the two lucky winners Christmas day.
Oh, and if you would like to purchase “Moon in my Window,” Leah is offering these CD’s to my readers and friends for $6.oo, including shipping. Simply send Leah an e-mail at backtheroad@gmail.com, and then settle into your rocking chair with your favorite cuddlebug.
Merry Christmas Everyone!

This is a lovely CD! (At least the version I have). I remember you saying that it wasn’t finished last year. Does it have more music on it now?
Merry Christmas Rachel!
Hope your tummies are full with something other than Popsicles by now.
We have a variety of lullaby CD’s none of which I’m particularly impressed with so I’d love to be the winner of such a highly praised volume.
oh oh oh I hope I win, I hope I win!! This is actually the first contest of yours I’ve read about in time to actually enter it, Whoohoo
ooo sounds neat
merry christmas to you all!
I know I don’t have children yet, but I will someday…someday a long long long long time from now (hopefully). But when that day comes, a cd of beautiful lullabies would be lovely. And goodness, it sure takes a long time to catch up on a few weeks of posts. I’ve been missing a lot of funny stories recently–no wonder I’ve felt like Senora Scrooge. I better read this blog more regularly.
What a fun idea!!! I will have to check out her website!!!
Hope that you guys are having a wonderful Christmas weekend!
What a great idea! Count me in for the “raffle” of the CD. Sounds like something my little Mira and Amelia would love!

Oh For Fun!!! A Christmas Giveaway?!?!?! Pick me, pick me!
And, Have a Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you and your family, Rachel! The song is beautiful. Thanks for sharing it!!
Merry Christmas!
I was too busy entertaining Ms. Ava pretending to be Santa Moose, and Dressing up in funny costumes, so I missed the drawing. And I am sad. But I have grown much attached to that wonderful compilation of dreamily sleepy tunes since it was the only source of music that would put all six of the girls asleep in the car on that fateful drive to New Mexico. Yes. All six of the girls, Rachel, Heather, Ava, Naomi, Audrey, and Kate. Whatever was going on… fighting, crying, whining, laughing or story time with obnoxiously loud chirping birds voiced by Rach, as soon as those wonderful dreamtunes came on everything else ceased. And it was glorious. Uncle Moose could drive in peace.
Oooh, missed out on this. Just jumped back into looking at blogs today. Hurrah for Sarah and Kristi! Be sure that you, and Pioneer Woman, have inspired me to hold more contests and giveaways on my blog as well. Stay tuned. Oh! And Merry Christmas my friend!!
